Classroom-related instruction is conducted in-person at the centralized campus in Casper. This occurs every six weeks per academic year, every five to seven weeks between the months of August and June/July. Over the course of 4 years apprentices who put in the work both in the field and classroom can become eligible to graduate the program and take the state test for their Journeyman Wireman License. Apprentices earn 54 college credits through a training agreement between the WYOJATC and Casper College. Housing is provided for schooling weeks for those apprentices who do not live in the immediate Casper area, free of charge. Contractors currently invest $311,600 over four years for a single apprentice to provide livable hourly wages plus benefits. This includes health insurance, pension, and retirement for each apprentice in addition to financially contributing to the training program.
